@Sukhamahal Yoga is beyond name and form and far beyond concepts of nationality. Though the origins of yoga are “Indian” (archaeological evidence shows that yoga asanas were practiced in the Indus valley in what is now called “Pakistan “at least 5000 years ago). Yoga is for all beings. Sarvesham Mangalam Bhavatu – may all beings be happy.

I started stretching when i was 18 and became interested contortion when I was 19, only 3 months ago, and is yoga any different other than the extremities of the stretches contortionists do? Everyday 24/7 I mostly concentrated on frontbending, backbending, lots of bridges, oversplitting, and chest-stands everyday. The pose that seems to frustrate me the most is the side split. I have been working on this for almost a year, but it is always about several inches from the horizontal. Know why?

wow, absolutely amazed by the limitless possibilities you can bring your body to! i’ve done some yoga myself in malaysia and it was a very mind-easing and calming experience. terima kasih for the video!

hello nytryder2k1, it depends on whether you just want to do some exercises for fitness or you want to go deeper into spiritual practice. If just for fitness, then any style in the yoga clubs will do. But if you are interested in the spiritual side of yoga, then you have to look for traditional yoga. There are many traditional yoga schools as well, it depends on your karma that will lead you to which school and which suit your temperement. Good luck.

You’re 22 years old according to your profile, so young enough that if you practice regularly you would become agile and strong enough to perform any of these poses. But whether you can or not is not the point – its the hours of self discovery that you put in getting there. Yoga is a path, not a goal. Traditionally Asians squat and sit on the floor a lot more than westerners, so they don’t tighten up the same way as westerners do. As for headstand – it’s all in the mind – it’s not so difficult.

i would say, that the best you can hop 1:22 and maybe 2:11 2:37. You’re right to a certain extent that body type does play role in where your centre of gravity is but honestly, if you’ve never even done exercises or that remotely resemble any of these poses!!! DO NOT ATTEMPT THEM…or you will end up in an emergency room. People who can do inversions have trained for years.

  21. barelylegalpigeons says:

thank you for the advanced inversion poses….:) my stability’s a bit off, but with more practice i’ll get my groove back :p

  22. waxer1987 says:

Are these types of advanced yoga moves attainable by the average person? I am not very flexible, but if I work at in everyday could I some day do these moves? I see alot of asians doing yoga, are there bodies different, is it easier for them?
